Thermalright SI-97A vs. XP-90

I read that Thermalright revised the SI-97 to include a K8 mounting system and dubbed it the SI-97A. I ran a search here and found no results that had people using the SI-97A on an A64 setup. It looks to me that the more open design of the SI-97A could allow for better cooling for components around the CPU socket.

Can anyone see how the SI-97A stacks up against the XP-90 on an A64 system?

Eh, I got an answer from Thermalright's customer support. The two only differ by 1C, with the XP-90 coming up top. So the only difference is compatibility and weight.

So that's it for this thread. Requiescat in pace.

go with the XP-90 all the way......I have used these a few times and installed them on freinds machines and this heatsink performs very well you cant go wrong........
