Default Thermaltake tower 112

So, I've got this enormous Thermaltake 112 heat pipe cpu cooler, and honestly, I'm afraid I may have spent money I should'nt have. I've spent a lot of time reading the fourms, and I have'nt seen a lot of positive things said about Thermaltake.
I've alot of work to do, and I need to learn alot, but my inital goal was, and still is, overclocking. So what I need to know is do I need to lap this heatsink, or is it going to be ok the way it is?? Is it an appropriate piece to do the job?? My wife has a Coolermaster heatsink that honestly seems to be of much higher quality, and the mounting bracket is ALOT nicer. The TT bracket does'nt exactly give me that warm fuzzy feeling you should have when your talking about cooling your processor. Any thoughts would be appreicated... Oh.. I've got a P4 3G.. Thanks again..Z and sorry for so many noobie questions...

Thanks for the links.. I sorta bought it spur of the moment.. and the weight may be an issue... I swear this thing is HUGE!! I have'nt had any real problems with it so far.. just concerned that it may not have been the best chioce. The pix of the bottom is exactly what mine looks like and I think maybe lapping the surface might help a litte.. Amyhoooo... I will definetly do more research next time.. thanks again.. Z
