Default Zalman Reviewed!

The latest and greatest in the Zalman processor cooling line has just been reviewed over at bit-tech.net. During the review they compared it to Asetek's new heatpipe cooler that didnt really delve too deep on the cooling range with different setups with either cooler......surprise surprise the Zalman beat it out, but not by much. From the stats that these guys put together im not totally sure that this cooler will take the place of my 7700.

You can find the review at http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/200..._cooler/1.html

Enjoy!

I've got results of my own for the Asetek Micro, but the company contacted us and wanted me to try a couple other products before the review goes up.

Man that kinda stinks. It would be cool for PR to be one of the fist sites to have the review up.

Im a little bummed, I looked at the Zalman site and now they have LED versions of the 7700 CU and the VF700... Would have been perfect with my new rig but o well.

BTW I dont think that newer zalman would fit in my wind tunnel thinger that my Enermax case has..

Could you please include comparisons against Zalman 7ks and and Thermalright XP-#s in your Microchill review? I've been holding out on buying a Thermalright XP-90 until I could see it against other quiet performance heatsinks. Thanks.

I will compare it to the 7K, but I got rid of the XP-120 due to poor performance.

Lokie, how about a review on all three models?

Heheh I would like to know where I could buy the FX-55 cooler for cheap..

I would love it to cool my 3000+ Venice!

But I would like to see more on this new cooler from Zalman, replace your water cooling? Hmmm

Ya thats what they say it will have the ability to do, but im skeptical because my oc'd 3500 venice runs at 29 celcius, i cant forsee the newer doin better than my 7700 with what that review said.

I just finished reading that summarized and less than thorough review. I can't believe they didn't test the first Zalman they got and got a different one with a flatter bottom. Does the end user have that option? Hell no. They should have tested it, then lapped it, then tested it again. That's what you and I would have to do.

Couldnt have said it better. The review was almost put out there for show like a prize saying, "Thats right we got our review up first." It was extremely rushed. Of course bit-tech is a huge site and all, but damn im pretty sure were not the only ones that see a flaw there. I wonder if they actually did lap it before their temps were took, or could we be seeing a real winner. Imagine the temps if the core wasnt even flush, and than you lapped it......you could be pullin 25 on an oc'd system. I would buy that if it were true. Guess were just gonna have to wait for a descent review to be done before we'll truly know.

Why would you want that on your system instead of spending the extra bucks on a Zalman cooler. I hafta agree that new system on the X2 HSFs is very easy and I put it on with a single hand.
