| Try looking at the old treads: http://forums.pcapex.com/showthread....&threadid=3697 http://forums.pcapex.com/showthread....&threadid=4055 http://forums.pcapex.com/showthread....&threadid=3880 http://forums.pcapex.com/showthread....&threadid=4290 You will notice the name thermalright comes up a lot ....... that might mean something! Note I said thermalright, not thermaltake. | ||

| Apex Advanced Techie | I'm an X-Thermaltake owner converted to Thermalright. The only thing that sucks about Thermalright is that their heatsinks don't come with a fan. For me it's been an issue of matching the SK-7 with a fan that cools well and doesn't make alot of noise. Right now I have a Vantec Stealth on top of it that is very quiet but runs around 42C instead of 38C that I had with the louder Thermaltake fan that I stole from my old Volcano 7. I guess that's the trade off for me, less noise more heat. | |

| No problem slickcam, I always feel the need to point out people that spam for a high post count or whatever....no biggie bro. I also suggest the Thermalright, the SLK-800 and SLK-900-U are about the best out there if you ask me. Plus, you get to buy your own fan which is a plus because the orange ones that come with the Thermaltake's are not exactly a color that most people would choose ![]() | ||

I combined the two. Got an Sk-7 and threw a Smart Case Fan II on top. Working extremely well for me & I like that I don't always have to leave the fan cranked up. I would definitely go w/ Thermalright if I were you. There really isn't anything else out right now that can touch their products. | |||||||||||||||||||||

| Well, since there's been a snafu moving my system from my old mobo to the new one, I can't give hard evidence, but I took my ThermalTake 9, took off the ugly orange fan, got a 80mm to 120mm blue plastic adapter, and an Enermax 120mm adjustable speed. Is has higher CFM and lower dB. I'll post actual temps when I get them. I also lapped the HS to a spiffy mirror finish. | ||

| I would recommend a swiftech heatsink. Depending on which AMD you want, they have great copper heatsinks for each. I am a swiftech fan ever since I got my first heatsink from them and it is totally worth every penny. You got what you paid for. Here are some made for AMD- MCX462-U MCX462+™ This is the one I have but its made for intel, could be modded to fit AMD and give great support! ![]() | ||
