Do you have any sort of model or name of the heatsinks?

Okay for starters, doubling the fans (stacking them, whatever) doesn't work. I've tested and tested and tested it again, and I've never seen any benefit in the standardized lighter testing. If anything, it becomes worse! Now then, for your heatsinks... They don't happen to be the AMD Retail heatsinks? Or are they just some heatsinks you got from a guy that you traded/bribed/bought it from? It'd help us out if we knew which heatsinks you were talking about.

theyre both default AMD heatsinks.....they both just have the metal rows and a fan on top.........and i add the extra fan anywhere to a heatsink that would help it more??

If you could find a way to mount them side by side on that heatsink, it'd help it cool because there wouldn't be that rather large dead-zone of hot air underneath the fan motor, which is coincedentally right above the core of the CPU.

Those stock AMD heatsinks are worthless. When I first installed my cpu with the oem hsf my cpu temps were over 60C. After replacing with a Thermalright SK-7 ($19.00 at www.svc.com) some artic silver 3, and an 80mm fan my temps dropped to 38C+/-. The only issue with not using the oem HSF is that the AMD warranty states that your warranty is void if you use anything but the OEM HSF. I once got around that by collecting all of the dust I could find inside my case and rubbed my oem hsf in the dust to make it appear to have been used. I also took the thermal pad off. Sounds funny but it worked.

I also have tried to used two fans, you really have to be "scientific" about it. The fans could actually interup the flow of the other, and make the situation worse, what about putting them off the same axis of each other?

Yes, but you make for god damned sure that it's absolutely 100% dry. I can't imagine a rusty heatsink being any good, neither can I imagine water drops left over playing nice with your components.

Okay... let me get this straight.. You would have a fan blowing down from the usual spot, and one on the side blowing that air out the side? So it's drawing air from the fins and not the outside air? That might work... only problem I see is that now your HSF is heavy on one side and I don't know what kind of stress that might put on your core, if any.

Well now I don't really know. I guess it might work as kind of a wind tunnel, but I'm thinking it'd create a bit of turbulence where the two exhausts meet, thus hampering the airflow. I'm now over my head... some other pimp'll have to help you.
