Default socket 754

Yeah so when looking for a mobo for my Shoebox project I found a Matx mobo that has OCing utilities. One thing that I also noticed was that it didnt have the plastic stuff on the mobo, the plastic thing that holds the heatsink on. If anyone is familiar with socket 754 let me know what you think. Here is the picture of the mobo and one that has the plastic holder. The first one is the one I want and the second is just an example.
The mobo I want.
The example.

I didn't have one with my Asus K8V SE Deluxe (got mixed up by the seller), but I had one with my Asus K8V (standard). If you tighten the screws right, you'll be fine without it. Chances are the motherboard comes with it, but it's just not in the picture.

Well the mobo doesnt come with the plastic piece. Would the stock heat sink go on that? I have never seen a stock 754 heat sink but I know the Zalman has those screws you speak of. Im just looking for stock cooling for now, I dont want to buy another $40 heatsink just yet.

Ok thanks guys. I really like the black IDE cables it comes with, I've never seen them before. One thing that stinks is that it only comes with 1 sata cable. Well thats the one Im gonna get. Whoo hoo.

I've seen some 754 mobos that don't have the backplate or the front mounting clips. Depending on the HSF you choose, some of those come with a complete mounting assembly (back and front). I know the K8 Venus 7+ from Thermaltake did. I'll look around my little shop and see if I can find a complete spare I think I might have back there and I'll let you know...

Awsome, thrasher, a black one would be nice. And GrandpaNoob72, if you could find a spare heat sink thing I would be very happy. The last thing I want to do is get the thing and realize I have to buy another part...

Wonder if a Zalman 7000 would fit on that. It would kick butt cuz it would cool the whole board. Also it comes with its own mounting hardware. Check Zalmans site to see if it fits.

Awsome! AMD 64 3000+ comin at me! I bought a Zalman but it didnt really work out, the NF-7 doesnt like it, nor does my powersupply. Im getting a heatsink through TYCOON so all I am really worried about is the mounting bracket.

I switched the stock HSF to a Zalman on my A64 & ASUS K8V Deluxe. If you need something and can provide a picture, I might have it..

What I need is the black plastic thing located on the second mobo picture. The Aopen one that I am going to get doesnt seem to have it for some odd reason.

Do you have the two big screws?

I have the plastic thing you're looking for, but I don't have the screws.

PM me your info as to where I can send it, if you want it.
