Default Slight cooling problem...

Ummmm, well, I downloaded the PR team software, and well, it made my AMD athlon 64 3200+ processor that generally runs at about 36 degrees C/96 degrees F. It got up to 44 degrees C/111 degrees F. I was watching a movie while I was monitoring the temps, well, I was wondering if my processor running at a full load was supposed to get THAT warm that quick, should I consider replacing my Heatsink/fan? Anyway... Help here would be great.

Thats not to uncommon for them 64's. They run a little hot and the temperature usually changes INSTANTLY for full load.
Iv'e seen them climb 10 degrees in a second or two..and go right back down after load..
they are SMOKING fast and SMOKING hot..

However better cooling is always good...
What heat sink are you using now?

If your worried about temps and want to stay air cooling that big ZALMAN is pimpin..
It will set ya back half a bone....but well worth it...
120 mm fan and all copper.....
AWESOME COOLING CAPABILITY.
check for case clearances though...
You can find it at Frozen CPU here.... http://www.frozencpu.com/cpu-zal-15.html

If you wan't to venture into water cooling I suggest heading over to www.dangerden.com
Look around...
There is a forum here on PR for answering watercooling questions. Found here.

Hope that helps man...

44c is not hot, your chip will run fine upto about 70c. There is no need for better cooling unless the noise is getting to you or you plan to do some big overclocks.

If your only going up to 44c, I wouldn't worry too much about it as that is still a good temp for full-load.........Hell, mine shoots up to 54c under full load (air-cooled)......I believe that the 64's are good up to 70c.......
