I need help with installing a new cooling unit?

I recently bought a volcano 9 artic sliver and a duct mod for my pentum 3 system and i need too know how much artic sliver to use on the heatsink and how to apply it properly,

also where the heck and how the heck do you install thermal sensors on a pentum 3 system?

this is what i did.

put a very small ammout of ac3 , like size of a grain of rice.
take something and spread it out, piece of paper or finger inside of a glove or sumthing.

clip the one side on then set it down then clip the other side on. probably not the best directions but ill try to find a site the shows you how to do it.
