Sweet! Where you live at you should make a portal from the window to your CPU. You would be cooling king in the winter.

From what Ive read you start with a course like 600 grit and move up from there. the highest ive seent people go is 1500 grit. Your right about turning it but you should also and a few drops of water that has a drop or 2 of dish soap in it. That is supposed to keep the paper from getting gummed up I think.

John all you really need is some high grit sandpaper....a flat surface(i used a mirror in this case since its a pretty flat surface), some water and soap, and some liquid refreshment(you will be there awhile)

I went down to autozone and picked up from 800 up to 2000 grit Wet/Dry Auto Finish sandpaper. (they can be had for about 2.00 bucks a pack for each)

Simple start at the lowest grit, 800 in this case. wet the paper down , add a drop of soap for easy sliding, and work the sink back and forth, Every 100 strokes or so (about 5-10 minutes per side) rotate 45 degrees.... I would spend at least 30 min on each grit.

I've got the same setup with the SK-7, a TT fan with the thermal probe, and AS3. I'm very happy with temps at around 38 C. Alot better then the 46 I was getting before with the TT Volcano 7 heatsink.

do you think i could plop the heaksink and fan on there now and when i get time do it later? or will it not turn out as good because it will have thermal compound on it? cause lt sounds like it will take awhile.

yes, you can lap it later ...... or even not at all.

When you do it, it will earn you a couple degrees.
