Question Removin HSF

Can i take off the hsf without taking the hs off? Cause there are 4 screws so i was wondering if those 4 screws release the hsf. any thoughts?

You should be able to take the fan off with no problem, I have taken the fan on my Volcano 7 off multiple times...

Come on Red, you've been here long enough now, how can we know for sure if it's ok or not if you don't tell us what kind of HSF you have ?

In general, for the most part, yea, it's fine, but if you disturb the heatsinks possition with the CPU, and mess up the integrity of the thermal joint, it probably won't cool as well as it did.
