Default Thermaltake Smart Fan II

Since the Thermaltake Smart Fan II already has a variable mode on it, can you still hook it up to a Vantec Nexus fan controller instead of using the supplied resistor?

Just configure it for manual control, set it at the highest setting, then run it through the Nexus.

Yeah, putting the jumper shunt back on the was it was when shipped will set it to it's max speed, then you can use the nexus, that's a good idea. also, I think if you hook it up with the analog fan speed modifier as well as the nexus... just basically take the 3-pin power cable and plug it into your nexus then the analog speed modifier on the smart fan 2... I believe is basically disabled by default.

I'm getting a nexus soon, just got a smart case fan 2. when I get them hooked together I can let you know what that's like, actually... why don't you just let us know how it goes, if you already have both parts.
heh

anyway, let us know

The Nexus was nice, but I preferred the controller from Sunbeam. The review is here:
