Default New HSF

What do you guys suggest for a new HSF for me? I am getting a 2500 mobile and have a Gigabyte GA-7VT600 motherboard. I'm thinking about a Thermal Take Silent Boost. What do you guys think?

Since you got a 2500 mobile, I assume you're interested in overclocking and therefore want the most effective heatsink you can get. In that case, you'll probably want a Thermalright SLK-900, SP-97, or SLK-800. You can see the performance of each and how they stack up against other heatsinks here.

Others will probably recommend a Zalman heatsink. Those are nice and quiet, and will give you decent performance, but not the absolute best performance as with the Thermalrights. If you are concerned about noise, you can always get a good-quality 92mm fan on, say, the SLK-900 and hook it up through a rheobus (aka fan controller).

By the way, ThermalTake has a reputation for making flashy but less-than-effective heatsinks. I had one way back -- looked cool, but ran really hot.
