need of an upgrade

So, my official next buy before I get a second lcd is to get a MUCH quieter heatsink. My 30$USD Vantec I bought at the spur of the moment cuz I need one sung long enough. By sung, I mean this. at the last lan, the person sitting across from me said my fan sound like a tornado siren. When she mentioned that, I started noticing my fan likes to adjust is self on a good smooth rhythm. Its frequency will increase and then travel back to normal.

That's about when I realized that this has gone on long enough. I need to find a really good heatsink for an Athalon XP+ 2800 (the cpu I want to upgrade to when I order the new heatsink) that will fit on an NF7-S motherboard. So, the suggestion are open for debate.

hmm, I guess there isn't much for discussion. Is this the same one outcast had to carve up to fit it in? I don't want to bother him much by having him drag his dremel over..unless he doesn't care much

I got a 30C flat temp with my Athlon 2700+ using a Silentboost K7 and the avaiible DuctMod, both from Thermaltake.

Since then though I have upgraded to the 92MM fan that comes with the Silent Tower, 52CFM at 21db is nice

If the Zalman won't fit, then try either the Thermalright SLK-900 series (forgot the exact model number) or the Swiftech MCX462V.

well, I already ordered the zalman. if it doesn't fit, I'll just have outcast dremel the sucker on. He had to trim his a little to get it to work. but I'll keep the others in mind
