| Well, i have a 2500 barton runing as a 3200(its unlocked) and i was gettin 37 under full load. then over night it just jumped to high 40s and sometimes 50 under full load. i have no idea what happend, i didnt move my case around so heatsink should still be in same spot. and ambient temp inside case is s reading pretty much the same... my room temp hasnt changed any anyways. anyone know what could have caused this? | ||

| how is the HSF in relation to the core? ie is it the paste that came with/or on the heatsink or is it artic silver? Could be that if its a new setup, the paste has an air buble of some sort, which isnt helping the temps. Also check your layout - there could be a pocket of air that just isnt moving or theres a alot of turbulance around the cpu area- cables neat? if you have an aero fan it could be its sucking air in from the exhaust fan area- gives it very poor performance and bad temps. | ||

| I have a SK7 with a smart fan 2 on it, its running at full speed, with thermal paste. but like i said it happend over night i shut down my comp woke up in morning turned it on and temps were that high. ive checkd for dustbunnies and no cables have changed places that could have messed up airflow. i would rethermal paste it but i used up last of my AIII on a friends comp. im gona order some A5 soon and see what that does, cause i was runin 37 under full load for about a month before this happend. im using the same program as before to check temps, speedfan, and the program that puts it under full load is f@h. | ||

| Hey Bob, Did u check the case temps, cause if you have your comp runnin idle for a long time like for instance I had mine running for 72hrs+ and decided to play UT2k4 and I got up to 47c which is about 7c higher than my normal peak temps. I shut down my comp and opened the side and it was reall warn if not hot especially by the PSU, yes I do have good airflow but I guess it sometimes just needs a break... ~Bob | ||
