Default thermal compound?

what should i use to stick heatsinks on ram? like on a vid card..i have AS5 but the sinks just fall off!

they make thermal adhesives, or some people just mix super glue with normal thermal compound. I'd use AS's thermal adhesive. http://www.arcticsilver.com/arctic_s...l_adhesive.htm

Zenn use a little trick that makes them easy to remove, unlike the thermal epoxy.

He puts a thin coat AS-5 in the center of the die, and leaves the corners bare, and puts a drop of Superglue on each one.

Makes life easier if you ever needed to remove them for RMA purposes, or for later use on another rig

VERY SMALL drop of super glue. if you overdo it, you may rip off the ram chip in the rare event that u would remove it.

I'd recommend Arctic Alumina Epoxy instead of Arctic Silver Epoxy. Even though it's not as good as AS, it's not electrically conductive (no fried chips if something goes wrong) and it's almost half the price.

Yes...be ever so careful, use a pin to apply either 5-min Epoxy or Super glue to the Chip...and just on the very outside corners...look at upcomming write up for details and pics...
