| I have a raptor - that thing can get really warm without cooling (from the reviews Ive read). Its cheap insurance if your case supports fans in the hard drive bay. Mine has a place for an 80 mm fan - like 5 bucks and a little more noise.....not a big deal for me. I also have a 160 GB 7200 rpm drive in there as well - both stay really cool. | ||

| I would have to say that if your hard drive is creating alot of heat inside your case, then a hard-drive cooler would be very benneficial. A hd cooler would definately expand the life of your hard drive. I have a 160 gig 7200 rpm hd, and I need a cooler on it to keep my computer running at optimum speeds. If you think that your hard drive is causing a large heat increase in your computer case, then I would get one. | ||
