I'm not sure why you'd want to, but depending on the design you could drill clearance holes in the additions, drill & tap the existing HS & bolt it all together. Either that or thermal adhesive. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

| never known someone salvage a PSU before. The only way would be to do an artic silver, epoxy mod: O O O O The 4 circles are the smal dots of epoxy, and the "square" inside them should have a thin layer of artic silver or thermal paste. As its heatsink to heatsink your could also try some sort of nut and bolt or screw aplication. The other hting they mite br usefull with is the MOSFETs on the main board. U will have to find a base plate of mettle, or bend the first 1/2" of the heatsink 90 degrees to lay ontop of the mosfets. Otherwise, i think its safe to say they're not going to be usefull | ||

| Senor Cisner-Hoes | Yes, power supply heatsinks are pretty lame in the scheme of heatsinks. They don't have enough fins for something like a CPU (even many lower power ones) and they are of an odd size and shape. Yes, plenty of people salvage PSUs--they have wire, inductors, capacitors, etc too. OOh yea, fans too Nev, I don' t know why he would need a baseplate of "mettle"-- the heatsinks are already metal. Are you referring to the way in which it would be mounted? Bending would be a better option if he had the equipment. Brandon Cisneros | |

| yeah i salvage all my psu's for the fans and i even rebuild psu from almost next to nothing it kinda come along with my computer pimpin rep. Its no that hard and honestly the only thing that i ever worry about is getting a small shock if even that yeah some of the HS in psu's are use able if you have ever seen one when you take a psu apart there is a little line going across the bottom and was thinking that i could insert them in a HS that matchs the bottom kinda like male-female heh | ||

| This is a little off topic about what you guys are talking about but I have made my own RAM heatsinks for my GeForce 5200FX heres what I did. I got some pennies dated back prior 1963 (because before 1963 pennies where about 60% copper, now they are like 40%) and I soaked them In coke for a few days to remove the tarnish on them, and lightly sanded them. After that I took some artic silver and 2-part epoxy and mixed them together and spreaded about a pea size on one side of the penny and took another and over laped about 8 of them on each ram chip letting them over lap so they could transfer heat. After they all dryed I poped the card back in, fired up UT2004 and did some OC'ing. And to my surprise, the penny heatsink worked better than those $14 el crap-o ram heatsinks!!! | ||
