Depends on what you are doing, if youre just using the comp not OCing. THen yes they are ok to use. If you are OCin you would want something better, for AMD procs, the SLK series is a good choice. But in your posts will ya give more info, what proc, what u want to do. No mrs.cleo's here

Pretty much, yep. They range from "adequate" if you're talking about a low end cpu (like a Duron) in a case with good airflow, to "only just stop your cpu from immediately frying" for a higher end cpu (like a recent Athlon XP), especially if your case airflow is inadequate, or if you're overclocking.

Like the others said, what you should buy depends on your cpu (& your mobo too, to a lesser extent)... but if you want an immediate answer, I'd say a Zalman Flower - mainly because I want to know if they're any good before I buy one myself

do you have a pic of that? i'm not sure but i think i saw a pic of it in maxpc. also, i think my friend gave me something that looks like it. i' was plannin on moving away from my stock hsf which by the way was only intended to be just enough to keep your cpu from crapping out while at stock speeds. anyway je, if i do have what you're talking i'll smack it in my rig and tell ya my results

Ive used one myself... In fact if you want Johnny i can see about mailing it to you? (not for 3 weeks though , when i get paid)

They are pretty decent... especially if you mount a nice high speed fan above it.

that's exactly what i have. i've also got a mounting rack and 120mm fan that goes with it. i'm pretty sure i'll get better temps with it compared to my stock hsf. guess i gotta check to see if my new board has enough clearance. *takes off side panel*
