I myself have never seen the amd 64 in action but i do know that amd does put out alot of heat compared to intel. My amd runs at about 29 celcius with a full load, and its only a 2500 barton. For that size of a cpu thats made by amd id say your running great. What are your temps at full load.

Im seriously doubting those running temps for a CPU unless

a) Your ambient temp less than 19C and that is at no CPU usage.
b) You are using a water cooler and at low ambient temps.

To me, that would most likely be the case temp. Check what sensors you are using to measure the temp and make sure they are the correct sensors. Also, it wouldnt hurt to post what heatsink you are using and what CPU usage this is at.

My guess is a 3200+ idle with stock cooler would be mid to high 40's.

With my A64 3200 I usually sit around 29-32 degrees, gets up to the mid to upper 30s under load. But I have a very nice H2O setup and I removed the IHS. How are you getting your temps so low? And are you OC'ed? I have mine running @ 2.4 with vcore at 1.575 (1.58)

I get 29-31c idle temps with my Zalman. My full load temp is 41-42.

Then again I have a 120 side intake blowin' right on it.

Exclamation Hot CPU!!!

I am running an AMD64bit 3200+. My temps are not even close to all of yours. I am using a stock hsf and have used ocz ultra5+ as my thermal grease compound. Funny thing is my temps are usually 46 c at idle and 47-48 when gaming. my mobo is a soltek sl-k8an2e-gr excellent board. but the temps all of you have lead me to believe that the motherboards temperature is off.

"I am using a stock hsf and have used ocz ultra5+ as my thermal grease compound."

source of problem: found

that being said, those temps aren't too bad, so it doesn't seem like you have any other problems. pop on a better cooler, you'll probably see temps drop a couple degrees (not too much, though, the A64 stock HSF aren't half bad from what I've seen.)

what are you using to monitor temps?

I believe in the mid 30's (c) idle and in the mid 40's to low 50's load (c) is teh norm on stock cooling...
