Improve Your Motherboards Cooling
I this guide I will point out some of the well-known and commonly used ways of improving motherboard cooling with its stock and very few heatsinks. The most common is to Lap the surface of the heatsink so that is getting better heat transfer from the chipset it is own. Lapping should usually be done with Sandpaper from grits 400 - 1500 this insures that any indentations will be removed or smoothed out. Then following it up with a aluminum polish (which is equal to 3000 grit).
I have seen some cases where it shaved up to 12°C off of my Asus A7N8X-X's stock cooling. Another way to better cool your motherboard is to add heatsink to all chipsets possible. I added MOSFET heatsinks, a Southbridge heatsink, and heatsink to any other chip I could. It resulted in a combined 36°C drop from my motherboards chips. But for those who have a little extra money it would be a good idea to switch to all copper heatsinks if possible.
For all others I hope that may have given you some good ideas if not, please don't hesitate to tell me.
