| Your load temps (100%) are realy the most important..idle temps are not realy that important, unless you don't do anything on your PC ![]() The temp drop you got is pretty good, and it should scale somewhat similar to your load temps on a stock CPU, but an overclocked one will typically show a much larger gap between idle and load. Speaking of OC..why don't you give that 1.8GHZ CPU a mild boost now that you have some decent cooling? 2.4ghz is easily done with stock voltage...and if you want more 3GHZ + should be an easy target with 1.4-1.5v, your cooling should be up for that. | ||

CoreTemp is the most accurate temperature software available. And to properly load your CPU up, use Orthos or OCCT. Download Stress Prime 2004 BETA OCCT Website english

Depends on your luck of the draw...I happen to have gotten a dud ![]() It needs around 1.425v for 3ghz, 1.5v for 3.2ghz and needs to be clock gen'ed for 3.4ghz with a blazing 1.6v and can only run 1MB of Pi at that speed. It also refuses to boot above 390FSB..this board has done it with other CPU's, and I have had the chip in several boards with the same results. There was a period of time they shipped quite a few batches of them, the ones just before or after my stepping seem to be more like yours.

Yea, yours was a dud, mine was running 3.2Ghz on 1.45v I believe, clockgen'ed up to 3.5+ for superpi on 1.55v.
