Default +4200 x2 temps

hello,
temp on 4200 x2 is 47*c idle.don know what it is at load.
hesitant to see what load is in case cpu is defective.
i re-seated the the heatsink/fan with fresh arctic silver5 and-
temp has not changed.sandra/everest/abit temp utility all stay-
between 47.1-47.7*c.
im using antec hs/fan.don remember the model.
i took off the panel and still no temp change.
my +4000 sandy was cooler.
anyone with 4200x2 have these temps?
do these dualcore cpu's just run warmer?
thanx

Use CoreTemp to measure the temperature. It's more accurate.

Your temps do seem kinda high. I am not sure what the max temp is on these chips. I have both of my cores at 100% and my temps are 50°C on one core, and 48°C on the other with an ambient temp of 24°.

You might try a house fan blowing into the side with the side panel off. If that helps, you may need beter airflow, if it does not, I would look into the heatsink mounting and such.

Also, what is the ambient temperature? You should also check out the program reflux linked to. Seems pretty neat. Shows my temps about 5 degrees higher than Everest does... I will have to look into that.

Are those under load or at idle? Use an application such as Orthos or OCCT to stress your PC to 100% load.

The descrepancy between core temperatures is definitely strange. The cores in my Q6600 can vary by about 6c, but nothing like what your getting. How did you apply the AS5? Make sure you do it according to the instructions.
