Question Asus P5N32-E SLI cooling`

Hi
I have an Asus P5N32-E SLI that needs additional cooling on the northbridge. The problem is that the optional cooler made by Asus for the northbridge can't for the love of any money be found.

Has anyone actually bought the optional cooler and if so, where did you get it from and how much?
I have googled the cooler but I can't find a product number and Asus South Africa hasn't a clue what I'm talking about.

Any other available fans that will fit onto the Northbridge? I don't really want an 3rd party NorthBridge cooler as my heatsinks are all connected and if I take off one, I have to remove all.
What I need is a fan.

Many thanks,MangledOne.

Ok i have two suggestions for you:
first, there are fans that you can put wherever you want like this one: by Antec
-Antec Spot Cooling Fan
or maybe you can use a large fan like this one that cover in part the north bridge:
-Thermaltake Big Orb II
but are you sure that its too hot, because i have a Asus P5N32-SLI-SE DX and my north bridge runs at about 36-37 Celcius.

If you don't mind doing some google, there are passive cooler that have optional fans that you can move to cool your bridge.

I hope i've helped you.

I just recently aquired the same board and put it into my water cooled Coolermaster Cavalier.... I to found out that the northbridge gets UBER hot even in reasonably cool enviroments... I then pulled the system out of that case since it was modded to house the water cooling and put it into a Thermaltake Shark case... for cooling I have a Coolermaster GeminII (dual 120mm) CPU cooler which has such a large footprint from the fans that it covers pretty much the entire top of the board blowing down over top of both the north and south bridge heatpipes... It seems to be doing a pretty good job and I am happy with it and the cooler is not to badly priced right now.. good luck.. I know it has to be hot where your at!!

My P5N-E is a stripped down P5N32-E, and I have a ThermalRight HR-05 on it, works nicely.

Don't have any lol... Its no major mod though.. Only had to modify the back to accept the 120mm Rad and also modded the front to accept a 120 in front of the HDD's for better cooling and air flow.. other than that.. it looks stock

You really shouldn't be worried you're going to kill anything with such a modest overclock. If you're running 1.5 CPU vCore+ and your cooling is poor, then yeah, but at a paltry 2.4ghz I really wouldn't worry. The basic Intel cooler is perfectly adequate at those speeds.

Are you overvolting your northbridge? If not, it shouldn't require any extra cooling.

Yes but thats only my overclocking speed for now.
I know my northbridge will get too hot and I want to get my CPU to 3GH/z.
Thats why I bought the Freezer 7 pro.
I don't want to puch my components too far without cooling and my northbridge is running with no direct air flow.

I know this is an old thread , but i just got the P5N32 Sli premium and see what you mean about the heat.

If you cant find the stock optional cooler , get a small video card fan or small ( like off a P3 HS) fan and mod it to the NB HS . It doesnt look like it would take to much work to attach a fan to it.
