| Ok so I'm in the market for new meece. My logitec MX1000 just does not feel like it is in control. its not even 1 yr old. And my M$ intelliMouse is getting old and stale. its almost 5 yr old. Having read past experiences of others the MX1000 should be a good mouse but to me feels like there must be something more. Quite often I have to "wave" the mouse around to regain control. So what mouse is best? What works best for you? I have not tried uninstalling the MX1000 and reinstalling it. I'll continue to sufffer the logitec mouse until there is a clear better choice. | ||

| Before you give up on it, check the bottom and make sure that there's not a hair or a piece of fiber lodged where the laser lense is on the bottom of the mouse. Also, try a new mousepad as well (make sure that it'll track right with a laser mouse). Could it be the battery (i have 0 experience with cordless)? If all of that fails, i love my MX518 (i know it's corded, but i still love it ) | ||

Oh the on board mouse battery police give plenty of warning prior to expiration. A mouse pad is as useful as the people that use it. I bought a new mouse pad. The people, aka wife and grand kids, did not want it so promptly removed it never to be seen again. As a smoker I was used to cleaning the mouse track ball on ocasion. I just never carried that hygiene over to the laser mouse. It only seems to stand that byproducts contaminate the lens just as it would hose up a mouse track ball. Ill try cleaning the lens. Thanks for the tip! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Pharoah I have the MX1000, and replaced my MX700 with it. I never have been as satisfied with it as I was the 700. I have started to think of replacing it also. Mice I have heard good things about: Logitech - MX518 Razer mice line So when I go to look I will check those, but both are corded. I have gotten spoiled for gaming to have no cord. Tough to find a good gaming mouse that is cordless though. | ||

| Foe, I don't know how much you use the 'extra features' of the MX1000, but if you uninstall the software that came with it and just use the default drivers XP gives it, it runs MUCH MUCH MUCH better. I used to have problems with the mouse cursor disappearing or losing connection and stuff with the MX1000 software installed while gaming. I uninstalled the software and it works wonderfully now. The only draw back is that you arn't able to use the extra buttons on the mouse. So, essentially I have a really expensive 'normal' wireless mouse now. LOL. Good thing I didn't buy it ![]() | ||
