Default If you want to buy a Wide Screen MonitorÂ…

Recently my trusty Syncmaster 753s monitor died on my after many years of gaminÂ…U had my doubts about getting an lcd monitor so I was in the marker for another CRT, thatÂ’s until I happened to go to a local pc supply store (Im in caracas Venezuela so no internet shopping for me) and saw this beauty(acerAL1916w)
Newegg.com - Acer AL1916W Ab Black 19" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor - Retail running Company Of HeroesÂ…..and to further the surprises it was rather cheap considering the prices of other lcd monitors (about 235$ exchanging form Venezuelan currency). So I took it home, and ever since Im in love with the thing!!! Never my games have looked better, and so far I have witnessed none of the issues associated with LCD DisplaysÂ…

So on with the specsÂ… It is a 19 inch WideScreen display, with a maximum resolution of 1440 X 900, and a response rate of 5msÂ… it includes a vga connector, and no bells and whistles but I can stress how much my gaming experience have improvedÂ… so far IÂ’ve tested these games to amazing results:

Company of Heroes.
TES: Oblivion.
NFS: Carbon.
Scarface.
Rainbow Six: Vegas.
WarHammer Mark of Chaos.
Hitman Blood Money.
And as of late an Japanese import of Resident Evil 4Â… I have been hooked for the past 7 hours (itÂ’s a great gameÂ…)

So in my opinion if youÂ’re in the market for a new monitor and have not jumped from CRT yet, this offer form Acer its great and affordableÂ…(at least in Venezuela)..

JustÂ… my two cents.

Cheers.

Miguel

Yup, had the silver version of that panel before I put it out service accidently with a BB gun...

Also, if you're in the UK, 20" TFT for £150.

I think the best deal here in the States is still the Hanns-G 19" widescreen although Newegg also has a similar Acer monitor with nearly the same specs.

I can only imagine why you would be shooting a bb gun in your house.

Yeah widescreen is really nice, except for when the games dont support the resolution. Then its usually just a quick config change.

Another 1.1" for not much more money sounds quite appealing as well.

I just think it is stupid to bother getting a digital LCD and use an analog signal for it, regardless of actual visible differences. Call it superstition.
