I was planning on buying some new components for my computer, such as graphics card and processor, to prepare it for DX10.

So far, these are my specs: (Old, i know, don't hate me )

Manufacturer:Me
Processor:AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3500+, MMX, 3DNow, ~2.2GHz
Memory:1024MB RAM
Hard Drive:120 GB
Video Card:NVIDIA GeForce 6800 XT
Monitor:Dell P1110
Sound Card:Realtek AC97 Audio
Speakers/Headphones:RAZER Barricuda 5.1 surround Headphones
Keyboard:USB Root Hub
Mouse:Logitech HID-compliant Cordless Mouse (G7)
Mouse Surface:Mousepad
Operating System:Windows XP Home Edition

There is one thing i would highly recommend that you to stay away from is XP Home Edition at least get XP Pro or Windows 2000 Pro.

Motherboard? CPU socket type? GPU socket?

BTW: I love my P1110. Heavier than a tank, but it's lasted me about 6 years, no worries.
