| I'd suggest one of these two PSU's instead of the hiper, unless you're dead-set on those modular connecter's style. Maybe give this Asus nVidia 650i board a good looking at, sposed to perform a tad better (and its the same price, free performance? oh my!) ... granted its a bit newer tech (so you might be stuck beta testing for a little bit while they iron out drivers and such). my $0.02 BTW, what're you intending on using this for? I guess I should've asked that from the get-go. | ||

Nope, but they do make panels for brands like Dell. Definitely give this board a look, as TheOutcast suggested. I'm buying one this week - awesome overclocking potential for the price, and SLi too!

Oh yeah forgot to add, this is my first time building a computer and I have no experience OCing nor do I know the difference between those two boards.

| First..what is this rig being primarly used for? Gaming it sounds like... I would suggest going with DDR800 instead of 667 that you chose, there isn't much cost difference typically...you need to look at other brands than Corsair though to stay within reason price wise. Maybe one of these.. Newegg.com - G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail Newegg.com - GeIL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail Newegg.com - G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail Newegg.com - A-DATA 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail Have you thought about what kind of CPU cooling you would like? (Air cooling I would assume!) I like the Zallman 9700, Thermatake Big Typhoon, or something by Scythe or Tuniq. And..I know this is a stretch for the budget, but you might want to consider going to a 8800GTS as this suports DX-10, and would last much longer before you need to upgrade. If you can hold off the build till next month, there will be a cheaper version 8800's on sale then! If your budget is set firmly at 2k, then you may have to find some way of cutting costs on some of the other stuff...but always go with 2GB of name brand ram, and a GOOD power supply. A less expensive motherboard might be the way to save some money if you don't plan on overclocking...the Gigiabyte DS-3 is under 140$, and can OC realy well, but doesn't support multiple vid cards. There are other boards with less stellar OC performance around that price range that will support dual cards though if you feel that is neccesary for future upgrades. I actually planned on getting an 8800gtx from the start, but after I talked with Rachetfps he told me to just stick with a 7900 GS for the moment and let the prices on 8800s fall a couple hundred and then get one. Yes I am going with Air Cooling because I don't want to spend money over and over for the WaterCooling system. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

| A 975X motherboard would give better performance. And good ones can be had for good prices ATM. The DFI infinity is good now, as recent BIOS's have helped overclocking alot. Newegg.com - DFI INFINITY 975X ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail And my favourite, the D975XBX2 Product Details I would also recommend a 8800GTS. Looks good but I don't like Widescreen, sorry for being picky. But I did notice that we have the same surround sound system, Logitech 5.1 ![]() | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

You do realize that by purchasing the 7900 GS and then the 8800gtx, you will actually spend more money on graphics cards?

Yep, I decided to not get the 8800gtx and just wait for something better to come out.
