Default sata question

I just got my first sata hard drive, and was wondering if I only need the legacy power connector or the sata power connector connected?

You can connect an SATA harddrive using either the molex power connector or the SATA power connector, but DO NOT use both. They're both the same, so pick whichever is most convienant for you.

Hummm, why is that? I have about 8 drives in various PC's
that have both power connectors plugged in. Most of them
have been like that for close to (2) years. I haven't had a
single problem.

I have been told and have read that it causes problems; regardless it's redundant and unnecessary.

Well we learn something new everyday if were lucky. I've
never really though about it. There were two connections
so I plugged them in. I still have plently of connectors, but
I'll unplug them tomorrow (in the daylight, it's getting dark quick) :-)
PM me tomorrow and I'll shot you some rep. I've already been
to generous this evening :-)
