Don't know what 8800GTX at the time. Im going to buy one right when Crysis comes out.
Wondering if the CPU would get bolt necked by the video card.
Once I get this will be able to sell the other parts.
What do you guys think.

Well, chances are good that with the 8800 you won't have a bottleneck at the vid card... and even if you did, is there anything you can do about it? There aren't many (if any) faster.

Do you know if they made a Heatsink for it instead of the stock heatsink.

I'm assuming you mean the vid card... and I don't know.

Personally, I wouldn't want to jack with a brand new $400+ vid card and ruin the warranty for a little while.

Agreed. Especially if you aren't going to O/C your vid.

Hmmm. I've seen to many stock video card coolers fail. I always replace
the stock unit with a aftermarket heatsink. I usually order them at the same
time. Just don't lose the original or any of the screws and stuff. If your careful
and take your time there is no way they'll ever know. I've RMA'd ton's of stuff,
some mine and some for other people. I've never been refused :-)

Amazingly the E6300 was no slower than the overclocked E6700 in these games. Of course there will be quite a few games that will see processor bottlenecking becoming a problem, but these three games are not them. Even so, X3: Reunion still saw even the Athlon64 X2 3800+ deliver highly playable performance at 1600x1200 with FSAA 16x + Aniso 16x enabled.

...after having run a number of tests on the GeForce 8800 GTX, we believe that it is not as CPU reliant as first thought. Of course at lower resolutions with lower quality settings enabled, the CPU would have much more of a strangle hold on performance. However, by testing at 1600x1200 with maximum FSAA and Aniso settings enabled, the CPU performance is not nearly as important.

Legion Hardware

For todays current crop of games, I would say your CPU is fine...but when DX-10 titles hit the market, they will be able to take advantage of dual core CPU's from what I have read.

Wich begs me to question why you aren't considering going to a Core 2 Duo system or AM-2 and DDR-2? (Costs are going to be similar overall)

The next gen of games will most likely start seeing beneifits from 4GB of ram, and Vista that you will need is certainly a Ram hog (The kits are due out soon!) and of course you have the option to upgrade to quad core CPU's someday, with 939 you are stuck forever with dual core as the best you can get...not to mention you proabably will have to use 4x1 sticks of ram to reach 4GB.

I just hate to see you drop all that coin on a system that has limited potential for future upgrades when you are replacing everything but the cpu allready!

FYI, you can get an Intel SLI board for around 150$ a E6300 for 180$ E6400 for 220$ (Both are 2MB cache) and a 4mb cache E6600 for 300$ (That is what I have, and it was worth it!)

My E6600 is in the 12.4 second range of super Pi (1 Mb test) at 4ghz (Max OC on air) while my last AMD 939 was in the 26 second range at 3GHZ (Opty 146, similar to your FX with 1MB cache)

Super Pi is one of the best ways to measure CPU "Horsepower" and you can plainly see my Current Intel rig is over 2x as fast as my AMD!

I would guess your current rig would run in the 38-40 second range since it isn't OC'd...the E6600 stock at 2.4 ghz was..umm, crap I forgot now! (Low 20's?)

So all in all, it's up to you realy, but if it were me, I would upgrade that CPU too!

I was looking at the SilverStone 120MM Fans and to control the speed you need a 2 pin not a 3 pin like the zalman fan controller uses.

So was think of using the face plate to make a guid at the top of my case to dremel 6 holes and putting the fan nob controllers there.

Only problem is that I don't have nobs for my Memory fan cooler and video card cooler.
Those take 3pin. So I was wondering if there is somthing that will make them into 4pin then a nob like the silverston fans have to control them.

Any help will be thankful.

Intel Quad Core trounces AMD. Again.

You might try looking around Frozen CPU, they have a selection of "Fain Tails" and some adaptors...maybe one of those would work, if not, keep poking around that site, something may do the job!
AS far as AMD Vs Intel quad cores..the current ones in production, Intel wins in every category from cost (There is a 500$ version to be released soon! and you need 4 sticks of ram for AMD) to performance, not to mention power consumption!

Intel Kentsfield trounces AMD Quad FX

In the 3rd quarter this year, things should get intresting when AMD launches a "Native" Quad core on one die (Wich will use a regular socket AM-2 board) but Intel will also be doing the same, plus adding a few new tweeks!

The race for the fastest "OCTO" 8 core rig is the one that I am watching now...AMD has a real chance at winning that one!

And of course..the 16 core plans are allready being laid out...but that one isn't even on the radar at this point!
