I'd suggest the 7xxx card - for the extra, what, 70 bucks? you get a newer, faster card...

I personally run a X1300, but I can't give you a good review of it - the rest of my computer is pretty cripple {AthlonXP @ 2.4ghz, 1GB ram, AGP card}, but at least it'll play BF2142 @ 30-40FPS... at best... running at 800x600 on low (except view distance, which is cranked up all the way)

Here's Anandtech's chart-thingie, might help

Hey bud, if you're only looking at those three, I personally would suggest the 7600.

Plus you can get it for alot less online @ the EGG> linky:

IMO it's not worth it to pay extra for the 512MB ram. Not sure how much of an improvement it would be at this level of card. Plus, it still has a 128bit memory interface.

I'd recommend an X1650 Pro or a 7600gs 256MB. They seem to be pretty much neck and neck but it seems like the ATI might have a slight advantage in most games.

I would skip on the x800 since it doesnt support SM 3.0. Plus the x1650 and 7600GS should outpreform it.

I Suggest this, GDDR3 never smelled so old.

Actually for an AGP card, isnt there a X1950 out, i don't think it has GDDR3 but hell its as good as that GT i linked.

lol thanks guys but i accually ended up going all out and getting the BFG 7800GS OC. just bought it from my local best buy, since shipping from the egg to my area would have come out to about the same price anyway.

That's a PCI-E card in your link, not AGP. I'm gonna say go with the
BFG 7800GS OC. I have one in an old PC. It's a damn fine card for a AGP system.

no, its agp. but i thiinking about what someone else also said, the money used to buy that card could go to buying a new pci-e board and card. thing is, is there a mobo that supports socket 775 with pci-e that has ddr, not ddr2? i only have the 180-something pin ram sticks, and dont plan on selling them. and tigerdirect/newegg isnt an option, because its $40 just to ship a video card to hawaii

theres a few hybrid boards out that have PCI-E + AGP
as well as 4 ram slots
2 are DDR and the other are DDR2

the perfromance isnt that great however ...
