You won't be disappointed with the sennheisers!
I'm an audiophile and I stand by them 100%. Sony's sound like crap imo.

I was trying to see if you can get these- (same ones I have) with the $20 off $50 or more coupon from google. But their $49.99!! looks like 1 penny is stopping the coupon. You can still get $10 off but it'll still be over your budget. God they sound so good tho.

Also... You should join the secret santa and ask for some headphones as a gift.

While I can't vouch for those specific sennheiser headphones, I do own a sennheiser headset and I love it to death. Definatley a quality brand.

Gonna have to hop on the Senn train... I have a pair, though I broke the cord. They were excellent! I'm just too cheap to go buy a new cord for them.

I recently got a pair of Sennheiser HD201's from the 'bay ... the cable is far too inflexible, but I can't fault the sound quality & comfort ... £18 including shipping, so all things being (un)equal, you should be able to find those for around $20

If I were you, I'd just wait and get some extra cash built up and drop some money for some nice headphones. I currently use a Sennheiser HD485s, and they were well worth the 80 bucks I paid. If you can't get a highend pair, save up a little more and get you an Icemate Siberia headset, they are amazing. They are good for listening to music and rival my Sennheisers for in-game sound. Then again, if you aren't running any kind of soundcard and using onboard sound, dropping a big chunk of cash on headphones may be a waste, as the sound quality won't be fully optimized.

I'd go with whoever said to get the 201s. Or get the 185s, generally the high end of the series is better than the low end of the series above it, if that makes sense.
