Default What do you think about this monitor?

I am soo tempted to get this for my Christmass present. It will be replacing a Hanns.G JW199D (19" widescreen). Any reason I should not get it? The old X850XT (platnum?) says it will run the native resolution of the monitor.

Newegg.com - CHIMEI 221D-NBC Black 22" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor - Retail

I want it. Any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I think for 300USD you could get a better monitor...

You gonna go for a Dualie set up?

So what is a better monitor for around the same price? I used to do dual monitors, but for the interweb and games I only need one. I do have the Tri computer setup though... laptop on the right, normally runs Linux (due to a hard drive RMA it is on WinXP), center monitor is my main computer, and the 17" LCD on the left is a borg set up with a left handed mouse.

Damn, I need to get out of the house more! Just reading that made me want to beat myself up! lol But if you know of a better monitor for $300 or less, let me know.

Have a good one

Well, do you need any specific features like the DVI - etc?

hehe... nice set up... I think I am starting to accumulate something like yours... I should probably stop.. lol.

EDIT:

Securemart.com -- AL2216WBD 22IN LCD-1680X1050 VGA DVI BLK

Essentially the same specs.. but I think its got a more reputible name to it.

FredG That Chimei Monitor is a pretty good deal ,but I personally dont like playing games at the wide screen resolution .

I was going to suggest this samsung I bought at the Egg.
Its a 20.1inch 1600x1200 resolution ,but its not on sale anymore.

I'll link it anyway so you can see what I'm talking about.
Playing oblivion at 1600x1200 is a thing to behold!!!

My video card has 2xDVI, I do not know what the advantage is but I would rather not run the main computer on an adapter.

And I am getting no details on the monitor you suggested, only a price.

Thanks for your time.

I don't like that name..
but then again I didn't like the hanns-g name when it first started appearing. My dad purchased one and I think it's an excellent lcd.

How about this Acer? Acer AL2223WD 22" Wide 5ms 800:1 WSXGA+ 1680 x 1050 Silver·Black Widescreen LCD Monitor ETL840B018 at TigerDirect.com

I think that's a pretty solid monitor. $300 shipped is a good deal as well. DVI cable in the box, so you more or less have the best picture right away.(with a little tweaking of course)

I mean the one in the OP.

Man just getting the $299 monitor is pushing my budget. I love me some widescreen gaming! Now I do not have much experience with the games most of you play, I have CSS and some RPG's I play. Sometimes some Doom3.

Thanks for the input.
