AWWWW I am going INSANE! which one is better at Overclocking?

BestBuy.com has the PNY Verto GeForce 7900GS 256MB GDDR3 PCI-E x16 Video Card on sale for $150 + shipping. A fairly low price for this card currently. NewEgg.com has it for $146 shipped after rebate.

NewEgg.com has the Sapphire 100189L Radeon X1900GT 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 VIVO PCI Express x16 VIVO HDCP Video Card $160 with free shipping. Smoothvision HD + Adaptive AA Avivo video and display technology.

And HOLY CRAP!!! The prices are SWEEET!

Basically, the 7900GS will overclock like stink to X1900GT speeds 'cos it's a crippled 7900GT. So if you want value for money and some overclocking fun, I'd go for a 7900GS.

The ATi card has superior image quality, but that depends on your screen size.

Custom PC: Two new £150 Nvidia GeForce 7900 GS cards from EVGA and BFG against ATi's £150 Radeon X1900 GT

It depends on the games you typically play, they swap back and forth as to wich ones faster...basically a draw in that dept.

The motherboard you use may have a deciding factor, if it is capable of SLI, then VIDIA, if it's X-Fire readdy, then ATi, if it's single GPU only...again, a tie.

As far as overclocking goes, somone mentioned "Issues" with artifacting when OC'd on the 7900 series..suposedly even at stock speeds too, this is the first I had heard about it...if thats turns out to be true...the I would go definately for the ATI....but again, this is news to me!

WEll..if you have a SLI board, the going NVIDIA makes the most sense, since someday you may come across a screaming deal on another 7900GS.

I am slightly troubled by the "Artifacting" dealio, I would like to see a few links on articles/forum thread dealing with that...I find it hard to believe they would push a complete pile of junk out the door like that if it were true, and not have everyone and there brother jumping up and down about it!
