Default Help me decide this.

I've saved up $1850 to spend on upgrading my computer, and I was wondering what hardware would give me the biggest bang for my buck. I'm looking for some awesome rotation, awesome graphics card, adequate cooling, med-high processing power, and a lot of gigs. Any ideas?

Do you mean what hardware will give you the biggest band for your buck.....and what do you mean by 'awesome rotation" ?

Intel Core Duo 2. I'm really liking my new eVGA 680i SLI mobo. Corsair memory. And
a couple Nvidia cards in SLI. Good Luck and Happy Spending :-)

^What Slaymate said, but get an 8800GTX if you can - most powerful card on the market by a long way. Get two even!

Now..you still have a few bucks to play with, you could step up to the E6700 if you don't want to OC, or the maybe even a 8800GTX if you want to stretch things..but I wanted to make sure you didn't bust the budget

CPU cooling...there are several other good choices too, the Zallman 9700 is among the best...also a few in the same ballpark are from Thermalright, Noctua, Scythe and Tuniq..I would say go for the ease of installation, looks and size to judge whats best for you...you won't see maybe 2-3 degrees between the best of them and the worst.

Ram is another area you could flex a bit with..depends on if you want to OC to extremes or not....but the parts I chose are going to OC pretty damn good!

Hard drive: I picked the fastest one around, it's 150GB and kinda small if you crave storage space...you probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference other than at boot up by a few seconds, and the same for game level load times if you went with a 500GB with 16MB cache like this Seagate below

Newegg.com - Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 500GB 3.5" IDE Ultra ATA100 Hard Drive - OEM
