I believe a laser mouse and an optical mouse are the same thing. Not 100% on that though.

Nope, Laser=/=Optical...Optical uses LEDs, Laser uses...lasers.... And back to the original topic...$100 for a keyboard without either an LCD or full backlighting is pretty weak...I don't care what it might eventually do with additional gadgets...I shouldn't have to pay that much for so little... | |||||||||||||||||||||||

| Apex Tech God | The Razer line may perform well for some. Both have let me down in recent mouse designs. I'll stick with Logitech across the board. for now. Just goes to show there are loyalties to any of the brand names. But hey I'll jump ship as soon as I find one I like better than the one I have.

| Apex Tech God | G15 FTW. Your paying $99 for a keyboard without an LCD and when it comes out, its gonna be another $40... Also, it doesnt look like the keys are easily programable on the fly like the g15... Is there a switch to disable the windows key? Thats the one feature that lets me know the G15 was created by gamers. And looking around, i own a lot of logitech ****. My z640s, my G15, My mx518, my fiancee's LX300... The only highly used input devices i have that aren't made by logitech are my trackball, a microsoft one i got for free and my griffin powermate. Then in the other room i have my Harmondy 720 which is the single best purchase i've ever made... and just yesterday i picked up an Xbox controller because i've needed a new one, it was wireless and it said logitech. Oh, and because they were on clearence at work. ![]() And i won a logitech hat at the last lan i went too. I cant find it anywhere which pisses me off because its getting cold out. But heres a pic of my fiance modeling it. ![]() Man, im out of it and rambling tonight...

Only thrice? What a wuss. ![]() I agree with Iat though. I far prefer Razer mice. Soooo much more precise. Though in fairness my G5 wasn't bad either. Nor is the trackball that I've got from them. As for the keyboard itself I far far prefer the look over the G15 but I want the chance to try it in store before I pick it up. Also I think Circuit City was including the webcam as well for $100. Unfortunately their websites down so I can't check. Bastar**.

| Smooth Operator | The only real problem with Razer's current offers are the ergonomics. For me they're great because I'm a finger tip only user, but it drives folks that rest their palms on the mouse nutty. But I can use a logitech mouse without to much issue, but it isn't "ideal" to my hand like a Copperhead. Logitech - everyone likes them, some folks love them. Razer mice, some folks love them, good number of folks can't stand them. So in reality, Logitech is designed for a larger audience. I really think if a person can, they should try both. One of them will be better in their hand than the other. As far as the keyboard goes - I don't know about the rest of you, but G15s for their cool LCD doesn't really do it for me for the following reasons: I'd wear off that shoddy lettering on them in a few short months. I type a LOT, and I've wore actual HOLES into the keys of some keyboards in a years time. Anyone's product with regular high quality keys without back lighting would probably last a year and a half, a Logitech would go about 3 months before it'd look like crap. G-15s are great keyboards, I've used someone's at a LAN once. I loved the key pressure/lay out. But saying they're the end all of gamer's keyboards is a little off.
