Default X1900xt Vs 7900 ????
Ok im looking into getting a new video card to go with my new conroe system... E6400 2 gigs of GSkill 2gbhz!



What would be a beter card out of the X1900Xt 256Mb vs a 7900GS or GT ... Here is what im looking at...

Well the card is going to be on a nice water cooling setup from danger den! So that wont matter... just want to know what the beter card is. I might do a little core clocking on eaither one!

I really don't know much about the new ATI cards. I would pick the Nvidia.
It's a single slot card and XFX has a great 2 owner warranty. You can register it
and if you sell it the new owner can register it also.

I'd say it would depend on the motherboard you choose for the Conroe, if it has multi GPU support, then you should probably match the card to the chipset your buying..

My vote would be for a AMD ATI setup up right now, the Intel N-Force motherboards aren't realy doing that hot in the OC dept....the latest ATI chipset boards are kicking major ass!

you should spend the extra $60-70 and pick up a x1950xtx instead with GDDR4

What mobo are you running? Some Crossfire boards can do SLI with the right drivers.

oh last time I checked prices on a x1900xtx they were $400-$380
and the x1950xtx was $450
