Question Need help on what is needed on converting VHS tapes to DVD Media

Hello pimps and pimpettes i was wondering if it is possible to convert VHS tapes to DVD media and what is needed to do it ??, i have a lot of VHS tapes that i would like to put on DVD media since i will be no longer using a VCR.

Yes it's possible. First you need your VCR ofcourse.
Then a video capture device. ( or a video card with VIVO)
Some DVD authoring/editing software, pinnacle studio or cyberlink power director for examples.
And a DVD/RW drive.

Ok thanks Marc so pretty much if i was to get this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814144033 and attach it to the VCR and then to Pinnicle device and then to my pc i should be able to transfer all the media from the VCR tape to my DVD Writer if i am understanding you right.

Alternately, pick up a VHS-DVD recording device:

Just over $100, and you don't need to waste computer time. Just start the record and go back to gaming.

Thank you so much that is perfit and will work better and does require me to use any special software all in one unit.

Has anybody here used one of these.

Hello everyone i thought i bump this thread and find out if this would be a good Dvd recorded to do what i want it to do for i have never done this before i am planning on going shopping on today and wanted everyones opinion on it.

At school I've worked with Panosonic editing type stuff, though not as simple as this.... But it looks pretty solid.

Yeah, that does look solid, I would recommend that over a pc based system just for simpliciy sake.

There are a lot of steps to using a pc to do the same thing, and you will most likely get better quality using that deck. Quality is poor just going from vhs to pc. I would hate to add another generation in with it.
