Default Laptop Battery in the Freezer

I have an old lithium ion battery that only works for around a minute before going out.

To help fix this problem (hopefully), I'm going to leave it in the freezer overnight and fully charge it tomorrow.

Are there any other things I can do to get life back from my battery?

I would buy a new battery, but I think it would be pointless considering it would cost more than the laptop is worth (P2 266 MHz, 64 MB RAM, 5.1 GB HD).

Umm doesnt a battery usually hold the most energy with heat, not too much but enough warmth usually helps the battery hold the power, but hey might as well try it and see what happens

For NiCads the trick works, they have some memory thing (its probably something chemical and not electrical). Although I dont know if the trick works for newer kinds, since NiMH has no memory.

Well, the freezer did help a bit, but not enough. My battery went from working for 1 minute to 2 minutes.

Discharging and recharging the battery had the same effect.

I opened up the battery only to see if I could replace the battery cells. Unfortunately, the battery was so old you can no longer buy cells for it.

I think I'll just stick to an electrical outlet until I can either find a battery for cheap or get a new lappy.
