Mastah Overclocker

The DFI is the best Overclocker if you are willing to spend the time tweeking it, but the ASUS A8N-32 is pretty close in capability (Over 300FSB) and is a bit easier to set up.

Get rid of that X-Connect, it may be why your other board died in the first place!

Take a look at the 12v rail under load

The DFI is the best overclocker, but I've seen alot of posts like your in a number of
forums. That's why I went with the Asus AN8-32 SLI Deluxe. But $SOLID$ has probably
hit the nail deadcenter. A cheap power supply is like a weak heart. The body won't
last long.

ait yeah i kno the xconnect is a bad psu ...
however my ocz modstream blew a few months back and ive been strapped for cash .....
and i needed to run my pc ..... i kept everything at stock juz in case as well
im getting a hiper type r soon ....well as soon as my friend gets back from the US
anyhow i dont think the prob was caused by my psu ....i had an old crt blow on me a few months back which kinda scrambled the cmos ....had to flash it to get it working ....

does any1 have any other suggestions for a board ....im most likely to stick with dfi ....but i like to keep my options open ....

thanks again guys

I have the DFI Expert, and its great (as long as you take the time learning it) It also needs a VERY good PS.

I have a bunch of the ASUS boards and found them to be ok.

But my favorite has to be the Epox 9NPA+ SLI. First its $129 retail, second it has a bunch of great features. Third it was plug and play, I didnt have to mess with a lot of other adjustments to get it running.

If you are into LEDs there are a bunch on the mobo and the reviews are pretty good as well.

As to the PS I have a few of the Ultra Xfinity 500 (they were $9.99 at Radioshack) and as long as you dont push them they are fine. If you are using 2 X1800 power hogs they are gonna fail. But for your 6600s they are fine.

When I built my latest comp power was a concern as I am using a Ultra 500 PS. So I used 7600GS in SLI (only 32watts) and my comp OCs the Opty 148 easy over 3000mhz.

Like the previous post the PS is the backbone and you should get a good one, but if you match ur stuff up you should be fine...
