Network Storage

I have always wonder what would this be used for. I know its for data and all, but what about putting all my music. to Share with my computers. I gout about acouple of thouse songs and was wondering if this would be use full.

I found one at bestbuy

It says games. So is it like I can install a game on it then run it from there. Because I have family that love playing zoo tycoon and Rollercoaster.

The ad copy says "Stores and mirrors important digital content, such as music, games, photos, documents and more."

I take this to mean it stores data ("important digital content"). Running an application is quite different from storing data.

The main purposes seem to be for backup and data redundancy, along with file sharing.

You could just buy a cheap external USB drive case, put a drive in it and share it. That would give you file sharing across the network.

Then you could schedule a backup batch file to run during off hours. That would give you some backup redundancy.

But if money is no object, go for it.

Or, you could implement a real application server:

o Okay I see.
It made it sound like u culd install a game on it and people play it from there.
I might just get a external hdd.
I dont know Ill read more into those.
