I was wondering if It would be best to get a newer modem.
Mine is really old and works good. Its about 6 or 8 yrs old and was wondering if a newer modem would be better. Also what wold be a good fast 1 for a linksys router to connect to it.

Are you on dial up, cable, or DSL?

Run a test or two see your connection speed at DSL reports or PCPitstop.com, and then you can determine if you have a slow connection needing an upgrade.

I personally would advise against a linksys router. Ive got a wireless one and its a huge pain because of the built in firewall that blocks certain ports. Ive had to go through a ton of trouble to get it to work semi-correctlly.

If your bandwitdth is on par for what your cable provider rates it's speed, then I would not bother upgrading yjr modem, more money for PC upgrades!
