need a board for Intel(660) under $100.oo . oc able 4gb dual channel Mem DDR2 533+.
the board I have came with the package (Asus P5VDC-MX),,, tried to clock it up ,,NOT HAPPINin.
Please go easy on Me I'm 50 and tend get feelings up my but

That is not really a good place to put feelings......

Post what you have now (Hardware) and I am sure we can help you with what you have now. That board should be able to overclock.

So if I read this correctley you got the board and the CPU and a combo right?

Intel P4 (660) 3.60 Ghz 800fsb supports everything CPU (exept VT tech and I'm glad it dont)
ASUS MB P5VDC-MX (dont support speedstep and no Dual channel memory)DaRRN!!
Porta-Tech.com recomended Buffalo 2GB DDR2 533 (2x1gb)
ALL on board crap no cards

How about what chipset ,,955? I'm going to get SATA 300 Hard Drive (Now30gb IDE 66/100)

I'm going to wait on getting Pro 64 there isnt enough need yet
I see nice boards for $200+ or -$ but that would knock out other upgrades like PCI-x card -HD-tv tuner ect,,,,,

Well If you shop newegg and the like you should be able to find something.

I am kinda at a loss as to why you are asking for help, if you have done 10 builds under your belt this should be a walk in the park.

What is this rig going to be used for. What cooling are you going to be using. Also for under 100$ (as you can see by the link) you choices are very limited as far a mobo. You might need to spend a bit more for a good overclocking board.

I am an AMD man but I am sure an Intel person will come along soon to point you to some good boards.

Your best bet might be to read up on some reviews and go from there, that, in large part, was how I picked my hardware.

AMD ? thats stong like D core and thats the cheap way to build .

the truth is the 660 is high dollar CPU and you Dont know the best MB chipset for the money.

The problem with the P5VDC-MX is that its a VIA chipset. They dont overclock worth crap, if you want to overclock at all you want to go with an Intel chipset. I'm not up exactly on all the new chipset's and what not but they have been great in the past.

I saw this at newegg. I know that nForce chipset's are the best for AMD so you might want to check it out for Intel. But like IceMage said you going to be limited in what you can buy for under $100 with overclocking potential. Most boards that overclock worth a crap start at $120 and go up from there.
