Default 20-pin vs. 20+4-pin connector issue . . .

I'm helping my father fix his PC after finding out his mb fried.

My problem is the replacement MB (Epox 8RDA3+PRO) has a 20 pin power connector and a 4 pin connector next to it.

I know I can purchase 20-pin female to 24-pin male connectors, but unfortunately all the pins are in-line and I need the +4pins to be separate.

Does anyone know where I could get a 20-pin to 20+4-pin connector??

I know I could buy the 20 to 24 pin connector then buy addt'l 20-pin and 4-pin connectors and rewire the converter to the new connectors, but I'm looking for any easier options that may be available.

Also, I have 20 pin connector and a 4 pin connector, so I'm wondering if I could just wire my power-supply to those connectors. I've resleeved my own OCZ PowerStream 600W and had no problems doing that, so I should be comfortable rewiring the connectors, I just don't know if it would be OK to rewire it.

I'm not sure if I worded that clearly, but if you can wade through it and offer help, I'd appreciate it.

THANK YOU!!

Hang on - the 4 pin connector on that board is the separate 12V ATX (AKA P4) connector that you find on other motherboards. DO NOT use the additional 4 pins on a 24 pin PSU connector!!

You'll need to use the single 4-pin connector that you get on most PSU's (generally marked 12vATX or P4)these days

thanks for the heads up on that!!

I looked at the image of that header, and the +4 from the 20+4 wouldn't fit in that header anyway. Thanks again!!

Unfortunately, I don't have that P4 connector on my PSU, only the 20-pin so I'm going to have to come up with some way to provide the extra two GND/+12V wires. I guess I could just splice them off the 12V wire I have on the PSUs 20 pin connector at pin 10.

I remember when motherboards used to come with the adapters to run that P4 connector off a molex connector - maybe have a look around ebay or a couple of etailers

Any members here have one of those cables??

Thanks guys, i found one at Poweron.com

It kind of sucks paying $8.00 S&H for a $3.95 product.

I wish the Shack carried that P4 connector cause I have a molex pin remover and I could make one myself.

Oh well.
