Default Will ddr2 800 ram work for this?

I just got a ecs rc410L/800-m mb and pentium d 2.66ghz from frys. I got some crappy ram for it from frys that i plan on taking back. I plan on getting a new mb soon and wcing this chip to hopefully 4ghz. I am thinking about buying this ram: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...&PageStyle=%23

My board only supports up to ddr2 667, will the 800 work in it anyway just at a slower speed?

I'd get it just for the OC overhead. That way you know your RAM won't hold you back.

That's exactly what I was thinking but just wasn't sure if it would work since the board doesn't support the faster speed ram.

I'm guessing that RAM would would work fine in your board. It's a good idea getting a 1GB stick, then you can get another later. Pretty sweet price aswell.

Patriot's DDR2 uses Micron chips (alot of high end DDR2 uses these at the moment), so performance and overclockability would be good.
