| Yay, finally, I might get to replace my TV now. I am looking at a couple of LCD TVs on ebay, each a decent price, and the seller good rep sellers. I was wondering if ya'll know anything about these TVs, or can reccomend the brands. Each are 26 inch widescreen HDTVs. Here the the Sanyo I am looking at http://www.sanyo.com/entertainment/t...productID=1243 This one seems pretty good quality, but we have not owned anything made by Sanyo before. The other is an Akai, I dunno about this brand at all, I've actually heard of Sanyo, but not akai. http://www.savinglots.com/lotprod.asp?item=LCT2662 Seems decent quality, but I can't find that many reviews for it. Sooo, any one with any knowledge on the subject would be great, I will not be using these with a cable box for a while, nor with HDTV, just analog cable, and consoles. Thanks all. | ||

| Apex Tech Fanatic | It seems like a toss up to me. The Sanyo has the HDMI input(which you won't use now but if you plan on keeping this tv for awhile you'll probably want it later). However it can only do 720p resolution. The Akai doesn't have HDMI but will do 1080i resolution(it says that the resolutions are selectable). However I just noticed that the specs say that the pixel height is 720, so I don't see how this tv can run at 1080. This doesn't really make sense. I would go w/ the Sanyo because the Akai model's specs don't make sense. | |

| the sanyo is by far the better choice with an ATSC and QAM decoder plus HDCP in. any HDTV without HDCP input is something to avoid. since its an lcd id try to get to a store and look at the sets upclose. with QAM you might be able to get some HDTV from your cable co if they dont scramble basic channels like your local networks. akai, btw, is pretty big in proaudio mainly with the MPC samplers used in probably all hip hop beat creation | ||

HA HA HA! I WISH, that's only $1900 over my dad's budget, and $1500 over mine. Thanks for everything guys, unfortunatly, my dad didn't want to spend over $200 on a new TV for my room that is better than the other TVs in the house. This is what I got instead of a flat panel. It was $178 at walmart. http://www.consumer.philips.com/cons...ESHQNHKFSEKI5P It has S-video for computer input, and it works pretty well at 1024x768, DVDs from windows media player 11 look pretty dang good, and I have my audio set up in a 4.0 stereo surround with it, it's awesome. Sure, it isn't as good as an LCD, but hey, it'll do I guess. I might get one after I get my job. Thanks though. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
