| Home Cinema: Projector Advice The local pcApex noob is back with yet another question! Right, I'm getting a summer job, with some of the money i would love to set up a projector system! Not concentrating on sound atm, that can come later. The projector I have decided to pick is the following: http://www.viewsonic.com/products/projectors/pj458d/ I know it may not be designed for home cinema use but i'm not that much of a cinema geek to worry about tiniest colour issues (i'm not prejudice toward the colours ) plus I can get this relatively cheap from work Right, some information here. My ideal set up will be with a throw range of 5.5m(18ft), with a screen no bigger than 95" wide, diagonal on a 3:4 aspect ratio makes that a an approximately 120" screen. Now, the question: -With a longer throw distance like that will the screen i'm looking at be too small? i've looked at some of these projection calculators but i'm having some problems understanding them. below is one for this particular projector: http://www.projectorcentral.com/View...calculator.htm The reason I don't want to move it forward is that I would like the projector to sit on a corner shelf I have and the screen be at the other corner of the room. I would like to avoid a cealing mount, I liked the portability of the sitting on the shelf thing. All other advice is welcome
