| Anyone have experience with this PSU that can tell me their impressions? I currently have an Ultra X-Infinity 600w, way too loud for my tastes. For background insight, I'm trying to fix the crappy cooling in my system. I picked up an Xclio 3060 (the one with 250mm side exhaust). I put Zalman VF700-CU's on my 2x6800 GTs and a CNPS7000B -CU on the AMD64 3700. Also trying to kill the harendous (sp?) noise in the process. I'm left to decide a PSU. | I have the 520 watt OCZ SLI, and it is probably the quietest part of my system...do you work in a Library or something? J/K...Customer reviews seem pretty positive

| I used one of these in a build last year and my only complaint was that about the stiff cables. The cables didnt seem short to me but then again I was building in a Super Lan Boy so there wasnt much space. It was however very quiet, very pretty, and as far as I could tell was rock solid(it was powering 2x6800GTs, 1Gb Ram,tv tuner, 2x 74GB Raptors, and a tvtuner.) If I get the chance Ill try and check out the voltages for you. All around though I was very happy with it. | ||

| For quiet power supplies, the Antec NeoHE is the quietest power supply i've EVER used. My 550W setup never makes any noise, even when I turn off all the other fans in my system. It also has 54 amps on the 12 volt rails, and it's 550W rating as at 50 degrees Celcius! | ||

but compared in price the NeoHE is a little more expensive, I'm liking the TTGI 550 Modular that im hoping to buy in the trading post but its a used deal, still for 25% cheaper than retail its all i can afford asked almost the same question a little while back and purplediamond found some pretty nice around 500W PSU's for me | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

| That's a good one too Ator, but I'm trying to cut down on the price a little. Anyone know how quiet the Hiper Type-Rs are? The 580w black one looks nice. I'm torn between the OCZ or the Hiper, because I only use 1 molex in my whole system (for the 250mm fan), and they have cables with a single connector, for the ultimate in cable hiding. | ||

| The Modstream is considered a quiet PSU. The Hiper is a quiet one too. My TTGI 550W modular PSU ($79) sports a 140mm (yes that's no typo) fan that is absolutly silent. It powers my overclocked system very well an if I need some extra cooling the PSU has a speed control button that changes the fan speed. At low spedd it cannot be heard even when you are right next to it. The most silent non-passive cooled PSU is the Seasonic S12 series, but they are not cheap (about $110 for the 500W model and $130 for the 600W one).
