| Sound card: Sound Blaster X-Fi ExtremeMusic, only $122 at the Egg. Hard Drive: Samsung Spinpoint 160GB SATA 3.0Gb/sec, only $67.99! I recommend these drives as they are extremely quiet, and offer good performance for the specs. What are the specs of the system you are building? | ||

| I would choose speakers first, then sound card. Reason I say this is because if you are going to choose Creative's speakers, then by all means go with the X-Fi. But if you are going to use other speakers or want to run your sound through your stereo, then you might want to look at other options. | ||

You could use a PSone lcd if you're looking for something small... these can be had on ebay for about 20 or 30 bucks I believe. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Well, for a substantial chunk off the price you would pay for an X-Fi, you could go with a very nice Turtle Beach Montego with Dolby Digital Live (on the fly encoding). | ||
