$550 isn't much to work with... what kind of specs are you looking for?

Oooo snap...lol

BAM:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1140392808266

Like FF said 550 is not a lot to work with.

I would say just read up/study, save some more money and try again at building your own, if done right with the right parts you can build a killer system for under 1000, also I am sure there are many around here that would be willing to help you along the way. :-)

as much as people will hate to say it, when going low-end, prebuilt is best bet for price, no sale can match the wholesale pricing that dell gets, and as far as support...well....as long as you can tolerate punjabish (punjabi and english) then thats it

Could have been the crappy no-name power supply, ALWAYS use a decent brand name PSU.

Your expensive hardware is not worth risking simply for an extra $80-100.

So either your PSU is a PPC Turbo-Cool 1KW or your gaming rig is a pre-2002 dinosaur?

Last year I priced a basic PC for a client and it came out to around $400 just for the tower/hardware, no monitor or software. I priced everything at www.newegg.com and I recall it was decent, but with integrated video and . I recommend what IceMage said. You just can't get the same quality for the same price unless you build it yourself. Yeah, you can get cheaper, but if you're paying less than $400 for just hardware, quality is going to suck donkeys.
