Default PSU desicion

Well im in the market to buy another PSU, my 450 that came with my powmax case has a burning smell emitting from it, i think its done, so im gonna ask whats the best PSU and not just for the price, (not hat im not looing for a deal) but the most efficient and highest wattage, I'm looking in the 600+ range and i don't need SLI but i definately want dual rail.

So whats your choice?

Edit: i personally want the Liberty620W but havent liked the price on it, but for my system i feel its nessesary.

I think you find Seasonics "80+ efficiency" PSU's hard to beat... not really cheap, but you get
what you pay for, imho... plus they are pretty silent!

Im running a Hiper 580W Modular PSU with a much higher spec machine than the machine you listed, it handles it now problem.

Rock solid, highly recommended.

I agree.. the Hiper 580 Modular is an awsome beast!

There is a review of it on this site if you want to check it out.

Third vote for Hiper's, but all the others listed are good. I was going to buy a Seasonic but they were too expensive...

Also, you probably only need a 500w PSI really.

Sorry about the specs, i forgot to add the dual peltier and watew cooling setup I'm adding, and the pump runs a 110 socket that will be run to the wall but the TEC's should suck some power and thats why im looking dual rail 600+, I'll be adding a 3-4 rad on that so theres 4 more fans max, in all it would be best to get something really big, anyhow thats for the advice and any futher advice

I am not sure if it's wide running the pelt off the regular PSU. I know that CrazyPC.com sell a dedicated TEC PSU. I seem to remember something about unusal voltage for a TEC and the initial current draw is very high - the spike may be more than what a regular PSU can handle. Maybe an extreme cooling guru can verify this.

this is why my single rail 450 is smelling like smoke, the peltier burnt it up i presume, but i was thinking of running them as air or water coolers more than actual cpu coolers. i figure ill use a 400 i have laying around for them i think its a 220 line only as well

the S-12 430w is my recommendation - cheaper than the 500watt by quite a bit, one of the quietest fanned PSUs in existance, incredibly stable, great efficiency, long lives

unless of course u think higher wattage = bigger penis

no i feel high wattage = more fans, but i also like trusted brands and stability the most, if i was just looking for wattage i'd get the 850w and never post this thread

Edit: and noise is not any problem i have 12 fans and they are all high performance

then the S12-500 will be ur best bet, if youre really concerned about that (although the current used by fans, even at 12v, is still minimal)

With all those 12V devices, i'd say go with an Antec NeoHE.

NeoHE 500W: $99.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817103940
NeoHE 550W: $118.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817103941

My NeoHE 550 runs the power-hungry system in my sig with NO problems.
